Women going through menopause can experience a wide range of symptoms impacting their daily lives. These symptoms include not only vasomotor and genitourinary symptoms, but also sleep disturbances, mood changes, joint pain, and brain fog. And did you know that the average duration of vasomotor symptoms is 7 – 8 years, and even up to 20 years in some women? Unfortunately, many symptoms go unrecognized and women may not always get the help or support they need.  Pharmacists can make a real difference in supporting women through the menopause. This session will provide a practical approach for pharmacists in how to assess and manage menopause. We will discuss the options for managing symptoms, how to individualize treatment, as well as provide counseling tips. In addition, we will discuss the important role pharmacists can play in menopause care.
