Date & Time
Saturday, November 27, 2021, 2:30 PM - 3:30 PM
Kathleen Hayward

This session will review the challenges faced by people with COPD and how pharmacists can help them. New medications and inhalers for COPD continue to arrive, making pharmacist interventions even more important. Global Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) recommendations and the 2019 Canadian Thoracic Society (CTS) guidelines continue to guide management and a plan for pharmacists to use their growing scope of practice. This presentation will illustrate the barriers to inhaled medication use and how pharmacists can assist in improving quality of life for those with COPD.
